My name is Joyce Lucas, and I am the founder of Quilt ‘n’ Stitch Marketplace.
In 2003, as I was struggling to get my own business up and running
on the Web, I realized that networking with other women in business was
not only fun and inspiring, it was crucial to my success as a woman in
business. With that in mind, I set out to design and create an
environment for like-minded women to come together in their business
journey. A year later, Make Mine Pink was born from this personal need
to connect with other women like myself that were struggling to not
only get their businesses started, but to gain the recognition that we
as small business owners need to succeed (read more at
Make Mine Pink).
This year celebrates our sixth year in business at Make Mine Pink,
and with that, came the realization that an online shopping and
networking site as successful as Make Mine Pink should be available to
other markets. Our track record for helping hundreds of women get
started in or maintain their business on the Web is one of the reasons
that I decided to open this model up to the quilting and stitchers
market. The other reason is my love of sewing and my desire to learn to
quilt. I have a beautiful sewing studio just waiting to be broken in.
I’m an avid collector of fabrics and love new vintage and
vintage-inspired fabrics. I can’t imagine a better way to shop than at
an all-in-one marketplace, all under one virtual roof. My hope is to
bring quilt shops and pattern designers, quilters and suppliers,
stitchers, and artists of fiber arts together — all for their common
love of their craft.
Just as Make Mine Pink has become so many different things to so many
women, the same will be true of Quilt ‘n’ Stitch Marketplace. It will
be a place to set up shop to showcase and sell your products, a place
to come and find that perfect pattern or piece of fabric, or perhaps
sell that beautiful set of embroidered pillowcases you’ve worked so
meticulously on. As well as a marketplace to sell and purchase
products, QNS will be a place for businesses to kick start their
business in ways that just wouldn’t be possible on their own. Through
national advertising, marketing events, and networking with other like
businesses, by being a part of the Quilt ‘n’ Stitch community, you
will have the potential to build your business at a much faster pace.
Shop owners can come for morning coffee chat in the forum to get
to know their customers and fellow shoppe owners while at the same time
connecting with shoppers requesting special products and supplies. One
of the really nice features that we're working on is the ability to
upload your database of products from your website to be included in a
very powerful search engine within the QNS community.
Our goal is to be the premier Quilting and needlework community on the
Web — offering quality products and superior customer service. We’re
proud of our accomplishments at Make Mine Pink and will strive to add
the same “small town” personal touch back to the Quilt ‘n’ Stitch
Marketplace. We are committed to making your shopping experience more
like the small-town shopping experience we all remember as a child.
Thank you for stopping by Quilt 'n' Stitch
